Since its founding in 2011, salondergegenwart has developed into one of the most vibrant platforms for contemporary art. Over 540 artists have participated to date. What began in Hamburg as a support program for young, graduate artists is now a far-reaching network that brings emerging artists and established voices into an open, intergenerational dialogue.

The exhibition at Kunstraum Potsdam showcases 75 artistic positions from the Holle Collection. By juxtaposing early and recent works, artistic developments become visible. Past and present resonate and open up new perspectives.

The exhibition is complemented by a retrospective spanning 15 years of salondergegenwart. In a captivating presentation of small-format works, over 200 artists engage in dialogue, offering a multifaceted insight into the development of the format.

The grand opening on May 30, 2026, marks the start of a five-week exhibition period that extends far beyond the traditional format. Artist talks, panel discussions, salon evenings, as well as business lunches and dinners create spaces for encounters, exchange, and networking. The personal presence of numerous artists transforms the exhibition into a vibrant meeting place for artists, the public, and collectors.
